Curriculum Vitae

Lane E. Bender is a seasoned first-chair trial attorney, having tried cases to verdict before juries in California and Federal courts. 

For nearly 30 years, the primary focus of Mr. Bender's practice has been devoted to employment-related counseling, litigation and trial work involving a broad range of workplace disputes and lawsuits,  including wage and hour claims and class actions, employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims, sexual and racial harassment and discrimination claims, disability and religious discrimination claims and related workplace tort and intellectual property claims.  Included within the scope of Mr. Bender's employer-specific representation includes sexual harassment prevention training, preparing, updating and implementing workplace policies and employee handbooks, advising on personnel matters, conducting workplace investigations and negotiating employment and severance agreements.  Mr. Bender qualifies as both panel counsel and Cumis counsel for employer-insured workplace matters.

Most recently, Mr. Bender has expanded his area of emphasis to include serving as General Counsel for several commercial real estate companies and employers doing business in California, Arizona, Nevada and  Colorado.

Mr. Bender obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 and his law degree from Whittier Law School in 1993.

In 1993, Mr. Bender was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.  In 1995, Mr. Bender was admitted to practice law in California.   

Mr. Bender is also admitted to practice law before the following Federal courts: U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania; U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit; U.S. District Court, Central District of California; U.S. District Court, Northern District of California; U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit; U.S. District Court, District of Colorado; and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Mr. Bender is a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, Retired.



Mr. Bender maintains offices in Palm Springs and Newport Beach.
